The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for reviewing the blasphemy law, calling it against the norms of Islam.
Speaking at the National Assembly on Tuesday, PTI MNA Javed Hashmi said the current blasphemy law was generating hatred, adding that the Peshawar church attack had brought a bad name to the country.
He said all religions preached peace and brotherhood and abhorred violence but some elements were trying to create differences among different segments of the society.
He regretted that security situation had deteriorated to the level that no worship place was safe today.
Hashmi said dialogue should be held with the Taliban in order to bring them into the mainstream.
