An incident of cross-border firing led to the death of two people in the Ghulam Khan Tehsil of North Waziristan. According to reports, six mortar shells were fired by individuals at the Afghan border.
One of the shells landed on a civilian house, resulting in the death of its two occupants.
The frequency of such incidents has steadily increased over the past month. The most notable incident occurred on September 18 when Afghan security forces killed at least five Pakistani citizens close to the Pak Afghan border in Balochistan.
