Afghan forces on Tuesday fired six mortar shells that landed deep inside Pakistan’s South Waziristan Agency, killing two men and injuring another four, security sources said.
The Afghan National Army fired six mortar shells on civilians at Bangi-Dar area of Ghulam Khan tehsil, the last Pakistani town on border with Afghanistan.
Last week, the Afghan army on vehicles penetrated inside Pakistan’s territory in Balochistan and killed five Pakistani nationals.
Pakistan has been lodging protest with the Afghan government through military and other channels.
Ghulam Khan has been hit regularly by the NATO and Afghan forces, which remain in the hot pursuit of the fleeing Taliban.
“However, firing from across the border leads to civilian casualties and Pakistani forces off and on return the fire,” sources elaborated.
