Prices of various petroleum products are likely to increase by up to Rs 4 per liter from October 1.
According to media reports the rise is expected because of rising oil prices in the international markets wherein crude oil prices have risen to $114 per barrel from $111 per barrel.
In the local market, petrol prices are likely to increase by Rs4 per liter, kerosene oil by Rs. 2.50 per liter, diesel by Rs. 2 a liter and light diesel oil by Rs. 2.15 a liter.
Sources said Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority will send the final summary on Sept. 29 to the ministry of petroleum for approval.
