Nasar replaces Ghani as KP IGP

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police Inspector General (IGP) Ihsan Ghani was replaced by another policeman Nasar Khan Durrani stated an official notification issued on Monday.

Sources told Pakistan Today that earlier, Ghani and Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mohammad Ali Babakhel had requested to be transferred.

Babakhel was recently posted CCPO when the post was vacated by Liaqat Ali Khan, who had refused to remain in office. Liaqat had taken a long vacation prior to getting his transfer orders as he was unable to work with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led coalition government in KP.

Similarly, Akbar Khan Hoti, who preceded Ghani as KP IG, was removed from office when the Awami National Party (ANP) coalition government ended in KP.

Many high ranking civil officers have also sought transfers to the federal government and other provinces over the attitude of the PTI leaders in KP.

Former KP home secretary Azam Khan had written a detailed letter to the chief secretary citing his reasons for seeking a transfer to the federal government.

The Provincial Management Services Officers’ Association has also repeatedly shown reservation over what they call the indifferent attitude of the PTI leaders.
