Prices of various petroleum products are likely to be increased by up to Rs 4 per litre from October 1.

According to media reports, the rise is expected because of the rising oil prices in the international market wherein crude oil prices have risen to $114 per barrel from $111 per barrel.

In the local market, petrol prices are likely to increase by Rs 4 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs 2.50 per litre, diesel by Rs 2 a litre and light diesel oil by Rs 2.15 a litre.

Sources said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority will send the final summary to the Ministry of Petroleum on September 29 for approval.
