Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Monday announced Intermediate examination 2013 results.
A total number of 1, 32,800 students appeared in the examination out of which 81,258 students passed, whereas the overall percentage of those who passed was 61.15 percent.
Addressing the board’s Intermediate Part II medal awarding ceremony at Al Hamra, chief guest Hamza Shahbaz condemned the twin suicide blasts in Peshawar which killed around 80 and injured 150 people.
He said that the country was facing power, law and order and economic crisis, adding that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif aims to resolve the energy crisis within the next five years. “Special measures have been taken to apprehend power pilferers and we will steer the nation towards prosperity,” he opined.
Hamza urged the youth to work hard, to believe in their goals and to play their role for the prosperity of the country. He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have always worked for the betterment of the youth and established Danish Schools and Punjab Endowment Fund (PEF) in this regard.
In light of the PM’s visit to Karachi Hamza affirmed that peace would be restored in Karachi and the city would be made safe again.
He later gave away medals to position holders and to heads of different institutions.
BOYS OUTSHINE GIRLS: Boys grabbed the top three positions as Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Lahore and Gujranwala.
In Lahore board, brothers Muhammad Ali Aziz and Ahmed Ali Aziz (pre-medical) scored 1,034 and 1,026 marks respectively grabbing first and second position.
Meanwhile, boys also dominated top positions in Gujranwala board.
