The dengue virus has now spread from Swat to Lower Dir where it has affected 48 people.

So far, three affected people have been shifted from Lower Dir to Peshawar in critical condition.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) senior Minister Sirajul Haq visited the Timergara District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital on Sunday where he observed the treatment facilities in the dengue wards and enquired about the health of the patients admitted there.

National Assembly (NA) member Sahibzada Muhammad Yaqoob and KP Assembly member (MPA) Muzaffar Syed also accompanied the minister.

Talking to media personnel, Siraj said the dengue outspread “is a test case and all of us have to play our role to overcome the dreadful disease”.

He said that provincial government was using all available resources to control the spread of dengue and the health department had been directed to provide the best possible treatment facilities to dengue patients, adding that no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
