Decision taken to review rent of shops at Pir Wadhai general bus stand

District government, Rawalpindi, has decided to review the rent of shops located in Pir Wadhai General Bus Stand.

The rent of those shops which were allotted in 1986 is going to be revised. The bus stand was handed over to the district government in 2012. As many as 800 shops, hotels, banks and post offices are located inside the bus stand. Only minimal rent is being received from these shops.

The shops which were allotted in 1986 sold out as several allottees have died or they have sold their shops to others.

The district government has decided to investigate the allotments and review the rent. District government is earning an income of up to Rs 12 million on account of rent and if the rent is reviewed, income of the district government can increase manifold.
