26/11 case: 7-member judicial panel leaves for India

An seven-member Pakistani judicial commission has left for India Saturday to cross-examine the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack witnesses.

The panel will cross examine the witnesses in the 2008 Mumbai attack case on September 24 to carry forward the lingering trial in the case in that country.

The commission was earlier scheduled to leave for India on September 11 but the visit was postponed due to the 10-day Ganesh festival in India.

The witnesses include the magistrate who recorded the confessional statement of Ajmal Kasab, the chief investigating officer and two doctors who conducted autopsy on the bodies of the other terrorists involved in the attack in 2008.

The members of the commission were given 7-day visas on Wednesday and would arrive in India through the Wagah border.
