Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday held a meeting with Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Kayani and ISI Director General Lt Gen Zaheerul Islam and reportedly discussed initiation of government’s dialogue with the Taliban.
According to reports, the PM held consultation with the army leadership over Taliban’s terms and conditions.
The PM and military top brass also reviewed progress regarding decisions taken in all parties conference held earlier this months in the which politicians urged the PML-N led government to initiate dialogue with the Taliban in a bid to restore peace across the country, especially the Tribal Areas.
The Taliban have demanded of the government to announce ceasefire before starting the dialogue process and release their colleagues detained by Pakistani authorities.
According to sources, all the participants agreed unanimously that dialogue process was imperative for peace and peace should be given a chance through the political process, but at the same time vowed not to cave in to the TTP’s demands.
During the meeting, PM also offered condolence over the demise of top army officers in Upper Dir incident.

I think ab is topic pe baat honi hee nahi chahiye k talks karni hain. Just focus to attack the militants which is the only option we have now. Well, a good gesture shown by PMLN, COAS and DG ISI to sit and think over it. Sab ko 1 hona chahiye. Sache dil se.

Why Pakistan army is reluctant to start an operation against the militants? Why? Why PMLN is not allowing General Kayani to start an operation? Time for talks is over, start operation.
Thanks GOD ke Nawaz Sharif army ko sath le kar chal raha hai is dafa. Nahi to is ne apni hee marzi ki or nuqsaan uthaya. Army bhi saath de rahi hai jo ke achi baat hai. Buhut hee achi. General Kayani ko salute karta hun main. Agar aaj democracy hai to is mein Army ka sab se bara role hai.
Nawaz Sharif is changed man now. Good going on security issues. Allah in ko kaamyaab kare. Taliban ko chance dene ki baat kar rahe hain. I think last chance hona chahiye bus ye. Is ke baad direct operation baghair kuch soche.
if ttp demands are unaccepptible then why were ttp convicted prisoners released ?
