  • British High Commissioner calls on interior minister to discuss security situation

British High Commissioner Adam Thomson called on the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Nisar Ali Khan on Thursday.

In the meeting matters of mutual interest with particular reference to the law and order situation and the impending visit of the British Home Secretary next week was discussed.

Nisar said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with UK which are getting stronger with the passage of time. With reference to the forthcoming visit of the British Home Secretary, the minister said that he was looking forward to her visit. “Institutional support of UK on counter terrorism would help Pakistan meet its security needs in a better way,” he added.

The minister shared with the High Commissioner measures taken to establish peace in the region in light of the resolution passed by the All Parties Conference (APC).

The High Commissioner supported the peace initiatives of the government to bring peace and stability in the region and added that the UK government will extend all possible institutional support to Pakistan in capacity building of its civil Armed Forces.
