The Education Department has declared 52 teachers and non-teaching staff surplus in Rawalpindi and ended their posts.
Notification to this effect has also been issued and the surplus teachers and other staff have been appointed in new schools.
The surplus people included 16 primary teachers, 24 middle school teachers, four secondary school teachers, two subject specialists and four grade-IV employees.
Meanwhile, the teachers unions expressed their concerns over the rationalisation policy under which the teachers and non-teaching staff is being declared surplus.
