Doctors on Thursday went on strike in government hospitals across Balochistan in protest against their senior colleague’s kidnapping from Quetta.
Cardiologist Dr Munaf Tareen was abducted three days back when he was en route to his house from his private hospital at Pishin Stop. The abductors abducted him and also took his vehicle.
The Young Doctors Association (Balochistan chapter) boycotted and refused to perform duties in Quetta Civil Hospital, Bolan Medical Complex, Fatima Jinnah Hospital and other hospitals across the restive province, leaving patients to suffer.
However, emergency services were available in the hospitals.
