Bari Imam Complex construction taking a little too long

The construction work on the Bari Imam Complex could not be completed despite the lapse of five years, spreading a wave of despair among the devotees.

The citizens said that they have sent many requests to the administration to expedite the construction work but to no avail. They said that the project has been delayed for the third time.

Work on the project was started in 2008 and it was supposed to be completed in June 2012 but the deadline was later extended to December 2012. At that time the administration expressed hope to complete the project till September 2013 but now the deadline has again been extended. According to sources, the completion of the project may take another one year.

When contacted, project manager of the construction company said that 80 percent work on the project has been completed and they were busy in work. He declined to further talk about the project.

The devotees demanded of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman to sort out the reason of the delay and take action against the responsible elements.
