Some elements want to sabotage the dialogue process between the government and the Taliban and incidents such as the attack on security forces in Upper Dir recently should not be made a hurdle in the process, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman said on Wednesday.
Talking to reporters, the JUI-F chief said both, the government and the Taliban, should keep an eye on the elements who were bent on sabotaging the dialogue process.
He said
“Goodwill gestures of the Taliban such as that of release of Gomal Zam Dam hostages should also be kept in mind,” Fazl said.
He said politicians and military leadership had given the mandate of talks to the government and this mandate should be fulfilled.
Fazl said it was unanimously decided in the APC that “we have to move the dialogue process with the Taliban forward with full confidence. No incident should hold the dialogue process hostage and we should move forward”.
He said the media also needed to exercise some caution and should highlight positive activities of the Taliban.
The JUI-F chief said the country was passing through a critical phase so “we need to move forward with a positive approach”.
Accusing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of partiality in the by-election in NA-25 Tank, the JUI-F chief claimed that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led government was interfering in the affairs of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and its officers were violating rule and regulations.
He alleged that the ECP had failed in discharging its obligations. “The Election Commission is playing role of a silent spectator.”
Maulana is out of his mind when he talks about keeping the dialouge open while the militants keep on murdering the soldiers of Pakistan army. Maulana wants to give the militants a license to kill while expecting for the government and the army to treat these murders with respect.

What the honouable cleric means is that the Taliban butchery must go on and we should not take it personally.
