Cardiologist Dr. Munaf Tareen, was abducted in Quetta; meanwhile, two assailants who attacked a police official at a picket, were arrested on Wednesday.
Dr. Munaf Tareen was kidnapped while he was en route to his residence from his private hospital located at Pishin Stop. The abductors, opening gunfire, hijacked his vehicle and took him captive.
DIG Operations Syed Mubeen Ahmed said that pickets were erected at the city’s exits and entrances following the abduction and some miscreants opened fire at the SP’s vehicle on Sariab Road, injuring a policeman.
Police returned the attack wounding the two assailants. All the injured have been shifted to Bolan Medical Complex.
Police registered cases against the two incidents and started their investigation.
