Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said that Afghan people are running their business in an open way which is diametrically opposite to the law.
There should be check on them for maintenance of law and order situation. A three-member of Supreme Court headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan resumed hearing Balochistan law and order case. During hearing, Chief Justice remarked that the government is bound to give fundamental rights to the people if it can’t arrange security measures for them. CCPO Quetta told the court that about 19 cases of abduction for ransom appeared this year. Approximately 90 percent of the groups involved in such activities have been rooted out and with the passage of time, security forces would exterminate all the brutes. Senior counsel Ayyaz Zahoor told the court that his client Doctor Manaf was abducted from the bus stop of Pashin but nobody tried to express any resistance in this regard. The Chief Justice also consulted about recovery of Dr. Manaf who had been abducted late night. Police officer told that main areas of the city have been cordoned off and SP Bashir has deployed heavy contingents in order to trace the culprits involved in the abduction of Dr. Manaf. While highlighting poor management of the forces, Chief Justice said that vehicles without number plates are being run in the city where arms dealer are free to come and go with their weapons. There is no check on them. Chief Justice also ordered the police officer to prepare a list with details of smuggled arms and ammunition.
