On Tuesday a girl was set on ablaze in Okara. There is some speculation as to the cause of this fire. The victim’s sister said that their father poured petrol on the girl and set her on fire.
However, SHO Saddar police station Muhammad Ismail said that the quarrel happened due to a dispute in the girl’s marriage which led to her attempting suicide.
The incident took place in village 52/L-2 of Okara. The girl received critical burn wounds and was rushed to hospital where according to hospital sources 80 percent of her body was scorched.
