The law enforcing and intelligence agencies in a joint action apprehended an alleged activist of al-Qaeda at Punjab university in the night between Monday and Tuesday.
According to police sources, the lawmen laid hands on the accused, who was a student in Science College Lahore, after he was found involved in suspicious activities hinting at his links with al-Qaeda.
The arrestee’s father was an employee of Punjab University.
Last week, an alleged al-Qaeda-affiliated man of Arab descent was picked up by agencies after a raid on one of Punjab University hostels.
According to reports, the held man led to the arrest of at least eight other accused.
Pictures of Aafia Siddiqui and other al-Qaeda leaders were also found hanging on the walls of the hostel room he was staying in.
