The District Administration Islamabad has launched operation against substandard food items that pose health hazards.
In view of this move, District Health Department Islamabad, Food Department and CDA Health Directorate issued notices to 91 bakeries and 170 hotels due to the violation of hygiene rules.
Meanwhile, they also seized the 370 dirty utensils and sent 91 samples of food items into the laboratory.
They also seized 50 Kg substandard sugar, 38 Kg substandard ketchup and soda water bottles. A strict warning was issued to the owners of bakeries and hotels that they should pay heed towards cleanliness and ensure the quality of items sold.
