Vested interest trying to sabotage peace talks: Fazl

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said hidden hands had started their nefarious endeavours to sabotage efforts to promote peace and harmony in Pakistan.

Addressing various delegations in DI Khan, Fazl strongly condemned the killing of high-ranking army officials in Upper Dir, declaring it a serious issue.

“Efforts to promote peace and harmony had started, but conspiracies have been let loose to sabotage the noble endeavours,” he regretted, cautioning both the government and militants to proceed with utter care about the issue and remain consistent about their intentions for peace and harmony.

He also expressed the party’s efforts to strengthen the ‘actual’ Pakistan rather than the ‘new Pakistan’ (PTI’s slogan), warning that the JUI-F would resist any move to implement this (PTI’s) new agenda merely because of a new slogan.

Fazl also criticised the use of public assets in electioneering campaign in NA-25, and demanded the Election Commission take notice of the violation.
