Minister of Water and Power, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has said that the government is focusing on overcoming the energy crisis on a priority basis.
Talking in Sialkot‚ he said that concerted efforts are being made to complete power generation projects as early as possible.
Referring to a drive against electricity and gas pilferage‚ he said that it would be further accelerated across the country.
The Minister further said that the impact of the drive against electricity and gas theft would help in considerably increasing WAPDA’s revenue. Special steps are being taken to unearth WAPDA and Sui gas employees who are involved in this malpractice.
He stated that the government would take stern action against the people who are involved in this malpractice and are causing loss for the national exchequer just for their personal gains.
He said a large number of electricity and gas meters that were tampered with were detected during the drive and several members of the mafia were also arrested.

I belong to Village Bahri Teh Phalia Dist Mandi Bha ud Din our village Maximum Bills of electric is exceed of the original bill for two months every month everybody go to Xen office and Phalia for correction of bills every meter holder if expended 100 units the bill is 400 units. Are your governments policy. when We went to the XEN office no reason given by the staff they asked from the complaint person and correct bill but next bill obtain with all arrears of last bill. Please take notice of this complaint .

I M GIVING FACTS REGARDING CHORE OF bijli in district khairpur specially feroz abro wapda employee. in his brothers house five Ac's, one in his separate house, one in his sister house, all his relatives using electricity freely including his wife relatives, even during season near about 50 ac's connections are using by shop keepers, and various persons and he is charging 2000 to 5000 per month all payment he is receiving. do you have solution for this type of corrupt peoples in WAPDA?.
WAPDA employees themselves are thief, example id Feroz Abro.in khairpur distreict luckman feder, in his area all his relatives using free electricity, during summer near to 60 ACs, Accounts may be verified, seprate transformer to his area only 12 to 15 meters are installed in the area even punishing them by though deduction bills to those who are paying bills.on. is their any law for these types of corrupt employees in WAPDA ?

But Depot has explore my all particular to the person that has thefting the electricity. this is not fair. He can harm me through any mean then who will be responsible of my dameges.
