The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to close all shopping centers in the province by 8 pm everyday in order to conserve electricity.
The decision would be implemented from November 1 and all traders would be taken into confidence before the decision is implemented.
The four provincial governments had agreed in a Council of Common Interests (CCI) meeting to close all shops by 8 pm.
According to reports, stern action would be taken against the traders who failed to comply with the orders.
Peshawar traders have opposed the decision but the government plans to constitute a jirga to take all stakeholders on board.
According to the KP government, shops in provinces would also be closed at 8 pm.
