The All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) on Saturday asked Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to ensure daily supply of natural gas to the CNG sector and resolve all the outstanding issues.
Transporters and CNG operators had been putting pressure on the APCNGA for street protests to get their issues resolved which could be averted by providing level-playing field, it said.
All office-bearers of the APCNGA had been summoned on Wednesday to Islamabad to finalise strategy over new load shedding schedule, taxes, and prices, said Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha, Chairman of the APCNGA.
The PML-N led government had walked its talk by reducing power load shedding across the stretch of Pakistan and now it should focus the natural gas sector to provide relief to masses and industry, he said.
Ghiyas Paracha said the statement of Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi not to discontinue CNG sector had helped restore confidence of investors.
He said the government had taken a revolutionary step by provision of natural gas to the industry in Punjab on daily basis for 10 hours; the CNG filling stations should also be provided natural gas for 10 hours on daily basis.
