21 foreign students arrested in raid on seminaries

Security forces and employees of secret agencies have arrested about 21 foreign students from the seminaries headed by former member of the National Assembly (MNA) and teacher of Mullah Omar, Qazi Hamidullah during a joint operation

According to a private television channel, the security forces raided two seminaries, Mazaherul Ulum and Anwarul Ulum, and arrested 21 students who refused to inform the police about their identity. They were taken to an undisclosed location for investigation. The detainees hail from Afghanistan and northern area of the country.

Hamidullah was elected as NA member by defeating Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz candidate Khurram Dastgir Khan in the 2002 general elections and is considered as a teacher of Taliban leader Mullah Omar.
