A local tribesman was killed and five others wounded on Saturday as an explosive device went off during an archaeological excavation in Darra area of tehsil Salarzai in Bajaur Agency.
The tribesmen and agency administration members were digging at the site when a remotely controlled bomb went off, killing Sher Muhammad and wounding five others, including Gulzar Shah, Muhammad Rahim, Muhammad Haleem and Gul Khan, who were taken to the agency headquarters hospital.
No group or organisation has claimed responsibility for the explosion.
Salarzai Peace Committee members have started investigation.
