Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid has said that the government has taken far reaching decision to secure the country and strengthen economy and Pakistan is moving on the path and direction given by father of the nation.
Talking to media after inaugurating an exhibition of rare photographs of Quaid-e-Azam and Pakistan Movement at Lok Virsa on the occasion of 65th death anniversary of Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the information minister said Pakistan was achieved by the father of the nation through constitutional, legal and democratic struggle.
Rashid said that all political parties including MQM, PPP and PTI were taken into confidence on the steps aimed at restoring peace in Karachi and categorically stated that there would be no injustice towards anybody and law will take its course. He hoped that situation in Karachi will further improve with the passage of time. The minister said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah is supervising the operation against criminals in Karachi. He said the PML-N government was moving ahead on constitution and democratic path in the vision of Quaid-e-Azam.
Rashid said people gave their mandate to political parties and PML-N has started implementing its mandate which includes country’s security, improving economy and promoting moderation and conciliation. To a question about creation of new provinces, the information minister said Pakistan was a democratic country and the political parties have a right to put forward their demands. Earlier, speaking at the inauguration of the exhibition, Pervaiz Rashid said it was an honur for him to be at this historic occasion. He said the exhibition would enable the younger generation to understand the struggle for creation of Pakistan under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam. He said Quaid achieved Pakistan through legal and democratic struggle and he wanted a federal democratic state.
The exhibition was organised by Electronic Media and Films and Publications director in collaboration with Lok Virsa. On this occasion Electronic Media Director General Rao Tehsil Ali Khan, Director General Sheraz Latif, Lok Virsa Executive Director Khalid Javed and other officials were present.
