Chilas police arrest militant

Security forces on Thursday arrested a militant involved in the killing of two army and one police official in Chilas District, Gilgit Baltistan.
Reports revealed that the Chilas police on a tip-off raided the border region between Kohistan and Shangla and arrested accused Hamidullah. He was involved in August 6 attack on a convoy in which a colonel, a captain and a senior superintendent of police were killed.
The killed officials were interrogating the killing of 12 foreign climbers in Nanga Parbat base camp on June 22.
Three accused Mushtaq alias Commander, Rahmat Omar Din and MUhammad alias Qari Hassnain have already been arrested. Two other accused Liaqat and Abdul Hamid are still at large.
The officials said the accused were associated with a banned militant group involved in sectarian violence and terrorist acts.
