Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed the petition filed by Aslam Ghumman against grant of bail by Islamabad High Court (IHC) to former president Pervez Musharraf in judges’ detention case.

The SC provided a week’s time to counsel for Pervez Musharraf as per request made by the former for making preparations for the petition seeking transfer of Akbar Bugti murder case from Quetta to Islamabad.

A 2-member bench of SC led by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa took up the two cases for hearing on Wednesday.

During the hearing of the judges’ detention case, the court was told that the petitioner Aslam Ghumman is not present without any information nor has he made any request for seeking adjournment of the case. The court dismissed the petition being not contested.

The court also heard the petition when it was filed and before Musharraf’s counsel sought transfer of the Akbar Bugti assassination case from Quetta to Islamabad.

Ilyas Siddiqui counsel for Pervez Musharraf appealed for time from the court for making preparations with respect to the case.

The court while allowing time adjourned the hearing of the case for one week.
