Minister of State for Education Balighur Rehman says that the government plans to double the education budget from two to four percent during the next five years.
Speaking at a function in Islamabad‚ he said that article 25-A of the constitution makes education a fundamental right for all children. It also calls for the provision of free and compulsory education to all children ranging from five to sixteen years of age.
