Citizens-Police Liaison Committee in Pindi soon: CPO

City Police Officer (CPO) Bilal Siddique Kamyana has said that a Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) would be established in Rawalpindi soon to address the problems faced by the citizens and the business community on priority basis. He was exchanging these views with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) President Manzar Khurshid Sheikh during his visit to the RCCI on Tuesday. Siddique said that business community is an asset for the country and the security of businessmen is the prime task of the police He assured that RCCI would be given representation in the CPLC. He said that culprits involved extortion and in street crimes will be dealt with iron hands. However, he suggested that business community should hire private security guards as safety measures and install CCTV cameras at their business points to reduce the crime rate. He ensured his full cooperation to the RCCI president. Speaking on the occasion, Manzar Khurshid said that RCCI always cooperated with the administration and owing to the deteriorating law and order situation business community is facing immense problems specially kidnapping for ransom has become a routine. He demanded of the government to take stern action against the offenders involved in such incidents.
