The industrialists and businessmen of Faisalabad would extend monetary help and technical assistance for up-gradation of FaisalabadAirport while the district administration would remove official hurdles for accelerating this project. This was decided at a meeting held here under chairmanship of Acting Commissioner/DCO Najam Ahmad Shah. The meeting was attended by Mian Zahid Aslam President FCCI, Mian Muhammad Idrees CE Sitara Industry, Mian Muhammad Latif Chairman Chenab Group, Muhammad Asgar Chairman PTEA, Rizwan Ashraf, Chairman APTMA, Khurram Mukhtar and others. Explaining the FaisalabadAirport plan Acting Commissioner Najam Ahmad Shah told that the up-gradation plan includes the renovation of Airport run way, buildings and link roads. He told that besides the availability of sizable federal and provincial. govt. funds the local industrialists and businessmen will also contribute to accomplish the up-gradation of FaisalabadAirport according to International standard. He said that services of a construction engineering company would be hired for designing and technical matters related to the Airport up-gradation. Najam Ahmad Shah appreciated the role of local industrialists for completion of development and face lifting plans of the city under a master plan. He said that Faisalabad was indeed a hub of textile where hundreds of mills engaged in textiles processing were playing a vital role and hence we would consult the local industrialists and businessmen for their consultation of financial assistance. The industrialists and businessmen agreed with the plea of acting Commissioner Najam Ahmad Shah for up-gradation of FaisalabadAirport on scientific and international standards.
