ATC issues production order for Musharraf in Bugti assassination case

The Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) Quetta has once again issued production orders for former President Pervez Musharraf in the Akbar Bugti assassination case.

The court has also issued arrest warrants of former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, former governor Owais Ahmad Ghani and former DCO Dera Bugti Abdul Samad Lasi.

The ATC bench led by Judge Tariq Anwar Kansi took up Akbar Bugti’s assassination case for hearing on Tuesday. The court asked the investigation team about any progress made in the case.

The counsel for Pervez Musharraf requested the court to exempt his client from attendance in the court.

The court while repeating its first order once again demanded that Pervez Musharraf and other accused persons be produced before it at every cost.

The court was told by the investigation team that the two accused individuals, Shaukat Aziz and Owais Ahmad Ghani, are living abroad.
Upon receiving this information, the court ordered that they be brought back to Pakistan after fulfilling all legal formalities.

The hearing of the case was adjourned until September, 30.

Talking to the media men after hearing of the case, Sohail Rajput, counsel for Jamil Akbar Bugti said that the request made for Musharraf’s exemption is a delaying tactic and Balochistan High Court has already dismissed applications in this regard.
