Dengue continues to spread its wings in Punjab as three more cases of dengue surfaced in Lahore on Monday, raising total number of patients to eighty nine. According to recent reports, the three individuals detected with the dengue virus were shifted to Mayo Hospital Lahore due to high fever. Most of the recent dengue cases have been reported in the provincial capital and nearby districts. On Sunday, Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif publicly took notice of the outspread of the virus and directed the authorities concerned to take steps with urgency in order to stop the fatal disease from spreading further. The provincial health department has claimed that solid steps have been taken to curtail the dengue virus but a lack of cooperation from the masses was creating difficulties. They appealed to the citizens to keep their homes and surroundings dry to effectively prevent the dengue larva from breeding and to adopt precautionary measures to keep themselves and others safe from the disease.
