US plans to attack Syria for own interests: Fazl

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chairman Fazlur Rahman said on Sunday that the United States is planning to launch a strike against Syria to pursue its own interests.

Talking to reporters, Fazl said, “The US earlier attacked Iraq and Libya by accusing them of possessing chemical weapons but the accusation were later proved false.”

He said US President Barack Obama appears helpless before some organisations that do not respect public opinion.

“Obama is selfishly pursuing the interests of his country even if it leads to quashing the interests of the rest of the world,” Fazl said.

Replying to a question, the JUI-F chairman said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) believed in dialogue and welcomed the federal government’s adoption of a path of negotiations, adding that the JUI-F would stand with the government in this regard.
