Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) in collaboration with educational and literary society Table Talk Forum arranged a Sham-e-Afsaana which was presided over by renowned writer and critic Ahmed Javed.
RAC Resident Director Waqar Ahmed welcomed the guests and termed the session fruitful.
Renowned writer and critic Ahmed Javed in his opening remarks threw light on the history of short story in Urdu literature and its current scenario. He said that the element of terror is also included in the short story keeping in view the existing situation of the country.
On the occasion, short story writers read their short stories. Farrukh Azeem read his short story titled ‘Kuch Likhney se Pehle’, Asim Butt read ‘Dhundh’, Irfan Ahmed Urfi read ‘Faraim se Bahir’ and Shahid Hameed read ‘Quetta me Kuchlaak’.
Waqar Ahmed, Dr Sarwat Zuhra, Sohail Chaudhary, Saeed Ahmed, Habib Chaudhary, Mazhar Masud, Shahzad Azhar including others also expressed their views on the short story.
The participants applauded RAC for playing an active role for the promotion of literary activities.
