Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Mian Shahbaz Sharif said that fulfilling the challenges faced by the country was difficult but not impossible, and that the nation required showing patriotism similar to that demonstrated in the 1965 war to achieve these tasks.
Addressing a ceremony held in connection with the Defence Day, the CM said that our armed forces gave innumerable sacrifices in the 1965 war and that the nation would never forget them.
“The nation gives tribute to its unnamed heroes while the services of Pak Air force’s MM Alam will be written and remembered in golden words,” he added.
Shahbaz said that the armed forces were always ready to cope with natural disasters in addition to defending the country, adding that the army’s role in the recent flood relief activities was remarkable.
“We have to win the war against bad governance and terrorism by adopting the patriotism of 1965,” he said.
SHAHBAZ VISITS YADGAR-E-SHUHADA:
Shahbaz visited Batapur’s Yadgar-e-Shuhada on Friday morning.
He laid floral wreath and offered fateha prayers for the 1965 war martyrs. He also prayed for the solidarity‚ progress and prosperity of the country.
Several Provincial Cabinet Members were also present at the occasion.
