Encroachments removed from Sabzi Mandi

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has removed encroachments from Sabzi Mandi and surrounding areas to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

ITP conducted a special survey under supervision of SP (Traffic) Asmat Ullah Junejo to identify various points in the city where traffic flow is disrupted due to encroachments.

A special police team conducted the operation. The traders’ community and the people appreciated ITP and said that this would greatly help in avoiding traffic jams.

The SP said that illegal parking of vehicles and encroachments led to heavy traffic jams and caused inconvenience to the people. He said, “Efforts are being made to overcome such issues after consultation with traders, shopkeepers and other stakeholders.”

Furthermore, he said that the drive would be extended to other parts of the city after problematic points have been identified. He informed that that traders and shopkeepers have assured of their cooperation in this regard. “Such encroachments also affected their businesses,” he added.

He said ITP is endeavouring to overcome traffic related problems and desired results could be achieved through cooperation of citizens. “Mutual cooperation between traffic police and citizens is necessary to ensure an exemplary traffic system in the city,” he added.
