Aviation art exhibition on Air Force Day

The Pakistan Air Force organised an aviation art exhibition at the Alhamra Art Gallery on Saturday to mark the Air Force Day (September 7).
“I was inspired by Group Captain (retd) Cecil Chaudhry (late), one of the heroes of the 1965 War, and one of the best fighter pilots the PAF has ever had,” Squadron Leader Nadeem Ali said while talking to media personnel.
About 200 paintings by Group Captain (retd) Syed Masood Akhtar Hussaini and 15 cardboard plane models made by Nadeem were displayed at the occasion to pay tribute to 1965 War martyrs.
Nadeem used cardboard, paper, the plaster of Paris and acrylic paints to build the plane models which included Spitfires, F-16s, a Savour, F-86, B-57, F-6, F-7, Mirage and an A-5.
Hussaini said that his paintings depicted various eras of the Air Force in six series, starting from its infancy. He said that in the first series, he had paid tribute to Air Marshal’s Asghar Khan and Noor Khan who had opted for Pakistan to develop an air force at the time of independence.
