Gaining special powers to conduct effective operations in Karachi, the paramilitary Rangers continued their raids in different restive parts of the city, arresting over three dozen more suspected criminals.
Officials said the Rangers carried out raids in Shershah, New Karachi, Surjani and other areas and rounded up 44 criminals, including extortionists, target-killers and gang war elements.
Female Rangers personnel also took part in house-to-house search operation at violence-torn areas where the law enforcers were cordoning off entry and exit points.
