The Lahore High Court (LHC) has directed Rahim Yar Khan’s District and Sessions Judge (D&SJ) to send the police report, u/s 173 Cr PC, regarding the murder of a girl before the trial court within three days so that the matter’s investigation could be concluded transparently.
According to news published in a section of press, the ill fated girl, a resident of Khanpur’s Chak No 36 was raped by Rafaqat Ali. She registered a case against him and his wife, Sughran Bibi, at the Sahja police station.
After some days, the accused personnel started forcing the victim to drop the charges against them. When she refused to do so, Rafaqat, his wife and two other accomplices, Nasir Ali and Arif, broke into her house and shot her dead.
The D&SJ submitted a report that a case was registered on the complaint of Anayat Ali, the father of the deceased girl. But during investigation it was divulged that one of the accused, Nasir, was innocent and that he had been implicated in the case in the background of an ongoing enmity between the parties concerned.
Furthermore, the evidence revealed that the deceased girl was insane and was killed by her father Anayat (complainant), mother (Fazilat Bibi), Ehsan and others under a plan to falsely incriminate Nasir and the others.
Moreover, another co-accused, Muhammad Hanif Bhatti, was arrested and he confessed that he was also Anayat’s accomplice in the murder. However, Anayat and Fazilat are still at large.
The LHC Complaint Cell directed the D&SJ to immediately comply with its orders regarding the submission of the police report within three days.
