The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the federation to present the final inquiry report on the Islamabad’s Jinnah Avenue firing incident within a week.

The directions were issued by a three-member bench comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Jawwad S Khawaja and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed while hearing the stand-off case.

During the proceedings, the chief justice asked Additional Attorney General (AAG) Shah Khawar about the recommendations by a commission formed by the Interior Ministry.

However, the AAG replied that he had not received any such recommendations.

The chief justice said the bench wanted to know what were the developments made in the case so far.

The AAG said the final inquiry report on the incident was almost ready and would be submitted before the court after the Interior Minister went through the report. He requested the court to grant a week for the filing of the final report which was awarded by the bench and the case was adjourned until September 13.

  1. Chief sahib, government is already looking deep into the matter. You simply tell the nation when cases against your son will be reopened. When will you allow agencies to probe about foreign trips of your son and other family members? We hope neither your acolytes or your good self will ask for any extension.
