PR to purchase modern equipment for railways’ security

Pakistan Railways have decided to purchase modern and high-tech equipment to improve the security of railway stations throughout the country.
According to sources, scanning machines would be installed in major railway stations of the country to search the passengers. Additionally, modern metal detectors and other equipment would also be procured to detect and defuse bombs, they added.
Initially, the scanning machines would be installed in the main railway stations of Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi and CCTV cameras would also be installed in areas where the facility was previously unavailable.
