APCNGA demands restructuring of OGRA

All Pakistan CNG Association (APCNGA) has demanded from government to restructure Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and to appoint competent officials in the dysfunctional institution. As per details on Wednesday, Chairman Supreme Council APCNGA Ghiyas Abdullah Paracha expressed grave concerns over the state of affairs in OGRA and said that urgent restoration of the authority had become imperative as the country has been facing worst energy crisis. He said as per law the authority must have the nod of three of the four members on the OGRA Board to reach any decision while there were only two working members since the last one and half an year. “Top officials of OGRA will only move in the personal interest ignoring to act in the interests of masses and their lethargy is taking toll on oil, gas and CNG sectors,” he added. The APCNGA chairman stated that the chairman and vice chairman of OGRA had been taking some decisions in their own interest avoiding major decisions. On the other hand, the Supreme Court and NAB have barred member finance and member gas from working.
