In city of 20 million, killing of few not a big deal: chief cop

Additional Inspector General Police (IGP) Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo, has said that police were taking indiscriminate action to restore peace in the port city.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Ghulam Qadir Thebo said that situation in Karachi was under control.

The IGP said police were also being targeted in Karachi, adding 119 police officers had been killed during the current year in the metropolis. Thebo said Karachi was the city of 20 million people and killing of a few was not a big deal. People were killed in targeted killings besides incidents of personal enmity, he said. The police chief accepted the presence of large quantity of arms in Karachi.
