Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez thanked the supporting staff and his teammates after winning the Man-of-the-Series award in the recently-concluded One-Day International (ODI) series against Zimbabwe on Saturday.
Hafeez battled through hamstring injury as he scored a quickfire unbeaten 26 and returned with bowling figures of two for 40.
“We had a good series, but all thanks to the supporting staff and my teammates. I still have some pain in the hamstring, but I am happy to win the series. I thought to retire as running was bit difficult,” Hafeez said.
“Skipper Misbah-ul-Haq asked me to bowl with the new ball as he wanted to put pressure on Zimbabwe from the word go. I would also like to thank the sponsors and the crowd for their support,” he added.
