At least three security forces personnel were killed and 14 other injured when a convoy was attacked by unidentified terrorists in North Waziristan Agency (NWA) on Sunday.
Officials said all injured have been shifted to Miranshah and Bannu hospitals. The officials said that condition of nine injured was said to be in danger.
An official in Miranshah said a convoy was on its way from Datakhel to Miranshah, headquarters of North Waziristan. It was targeted with an improvised explosive device when it reached near Boya. Three personnel were killed on the spot and 14 injured.
The seriously injured were airlifted to the Combined Military Hospital Bannu. The official confirmed that condition of at least nine personnel was in danger.
Soon after the attack, security forces launched a search operation in the area. However, there is no details of any arrests.
To ensure safety to security forces personnel, the North Waziristan administration imposes a weekly curfew on Sunday. The security forces contingents are shifting from one to another station on this particular day. Whereas the personnel of Khasadar forces are also deployed on all important roads and routes for ensuring safe passage to security forces convoys.
