Akbar Ali, an active political activist and member of the Matta Peace Committee, Swat was shot dead by unidentified men on Saturday near his house in village Durashkhela.
According to police officials, Akbar was going home after offering the Isha prayer at a local mosque when the assailants shot him dead and fled.
Security forces personnel rushed to the site and started a search operation but no arrest has been made so far.
