Forty five people were affected in a village near Parachinar after consuming milk from a cow bitten by a rabid dog.
All 45 people belong to the same family. Head of the affected family, Sabit Hussain said his pet dog had bitten his cow. The dog was later found to be mad and died. Later, the cow also died because of the dog’s bite.
The family went to ParachinarAgencyHeadquartersHospital where doctors declared them to be affected by the dog’s bite as they had consumed the affected cow’s milk for about one month.
Hussain said his family was being vaccinated but their lives were still in danger. He requested the government to arrange appropriate treatment for the affected family on an emergency basis.
